- Airport Bus Express: The Avanza Portillo Bus line has a direct service nonstop from Marbella to Malaga airport and return. The first bus leaves at 7:00am from Marbella and the last bus from Malaga to Marbella leaves the airport at 22:45pm. You can buy a return ticket at the stand by the arrivals exit from the airport terminal. The bus stops right in front, by the curb, clearly marked “Marbella”.

The AVE service from Málaga to Madrid runs several times during the day for a two and a half hour ride. You can easily go to Madrid and return in the same day on the high-speed train AVE. By car, it takes approximately five hours to reach the capital.
The Portillo Bus service can take you from Marbella to the Renfe/AVE train station in Malaga (Estación Maria Zambrano) in 45 minutes. The first bus leaves a 07:00 and the last bus back to Marbella leaves the Renfe station at 22:45.
